Whitelist Joël A. Prévost

If important emails are ending up in your SPAM folder, you may want to whitelist the sender with your email service provider (gmail, yahoo, etc.). Below I will walk you through the whitelisting process step-by-step for the most common email service providers. 

Gmail

Option 1: Add the email address to your Gmail.com contacts.

Option 2: Whitelist the email address

  1. Click the cog icon in the upper right corner
  2. Click Settings
  3. Click on Filters
  4. Select Create a new filter
  5. Enter the email address that you want to whitelist in the To field  
  6. Click Create filter with this search
  7. Under When a message arrives that matches this search select “Never send it to spam”
  8. Click Create filter 

Outlook

Option 1: Add the email address to your Outlook.com contacts.

Option 2: Whitelist the email address

  1. Click the cog icon in the upper right corner
  2. Click More mail settings
  3. Select Safe and blocked senders
  4. Click Safe mailing lists
  5. Add the email address you want to whitelist to the list of Safe mailing lists

Yahoo! Mail

Option 1: Add the email address to your Yahoo! Mail contacts.

Option 2: Whitelist the email address

  1. Click on Settings in the upper right corner
  2. Click More Settings 
  3. Select Filters
  4. Click + Add new filters
  5. Enter a Filter Name
  6. Under Set rules select contains under Select a filter criterion  
  7. Under Enter a filter value enter the email address you want to whitelist
  8. Click Save
